Happy St. Paddy’s Everyone,
I am constantly amazed at how big a deal this day is over here in the Emerald Isle – there’s a parade down in Clon later today which means the town will be wall-to-wall drunken revellers. I can hardly wait.
Anyway, for some of us work beckons and prevents us joining in the festivities, although I confess I am wearing a silly hat (see below). On Ask Baldy today we have a mechanic who wants to get away from being commoditised on price, a local business owner wanting more leads, and a lady with a blog selling, of all things, knitting patterns, who wants to sell more of them.
No disrespect to the first two, the last of these is, to me, far more interesting and challenging.
Why?
Because the first two are easy and you can get the how-to almost anywhere. But the last is more problematic. I mean, it’s easy in principle, but the implementation isn’t as easy, fast or efficient as the gurus like you to think it is (never forget they have their buddies’ lists to skim off). The idea of write blog, get rankings, get visitors, make money is brilliant… and it really does work just like that.
But the execution is always tougher and slower than they make it seem. In the video below I give you the quick how-to, but please remember there’s a sod of a lot more to it, and if you want the detail then you’ll need to be prepared to study it properly.
The good news is, of course, it’s cheap to get started and as long as you’re not depending on the income there’s no real pressure to get it done yesterday.
