First, I’m very much in demand. As well as the regular clients I serve, most of whom have been working with me for several years, I have my own projects and a waiting list of new clients seeking my attention.

So if you’re in a hurry, then either you need to find another copywriter to make your project a success, or be prepared to invest a 35% premium on the normal project fee (and I can’t always guarantee if this will be possible, because if I really can’t put the time in, I can’t put the time in).

Realistically it means the lead-time on your project is at least 30 days — that’s the time from when we agree the job to the day I begin.

Secondly, I’m also careful and choosy whom I work with. To me, direct response copywriting is much more than my profession — it’s my love and my passion. I refuse to squander it on something I don’t believe in.

If you’re peddling rubbish, selling “hope” and nonsense, or you’re simply being dishonest in your marketing, then you and I are not going to get along at all, never mind work together profitably.

Adult projects are fine, but, please, don’t ask me to help you with “Law of Attraction” bullshit, or indeed, any kind of superstitious silliness.

I am also not interested in profit-shares or “sweat equity”, where I put in the work to make your project a success in return for a share of the enormous profits you’re dreaming of.

Direct Response Copywriting - About You

You will be aware of the value of direct response copywriting, but you’ll also realise neither I nor any other direct response copywriter is a magician and there are at least two factors in your marketing ranking higher than the copy: your list, and your offer.

You will also realise direct response copywriters who claim they can “compel people to buy” are lying to you (if they could do this, then they’d be selling multi-million dollar yachts to rich oil Sheiks, not selling direct response copywriting services for a living, yes?).

Because of that, you’ll either be marketing savvy yourself or will be willing to take general advice and direction from me on your entire strategy. Direct response copywriting is not my only skill — first and foremost I am a marketer. World-class direct response copywriting is not possible without a deep and wide understanding of marketing.

My job is to make you money, not make you feel good about yourself by simply giving approval to your existing ideas and plans. I am your trusted expert advisor, not your hired hand.

You will also be prepared to invest a substantial amount of money in your project.

My direct response copywriting fees start at £10,000 Sterling and are frequently much more. If you don’t have this amount to invest, then please don’t ask me to work on your project.
